The Russian Regional Jet Family is being developed by Sukhoi Civil
Aircraft Company in Moscow along with additional support from Ilyushin,
Yakovlev and Boeing. Goodrich will integrate and supply the wheels,
carbon brakes, brake control system, tire pressure indicating system
and brake temperature monitoring system technologies for this new
series of aircraft.
These jets will be equipped with a proprietary Goodrich Brake-by-Wire System that uses digital technology to give pilots smooth, precise control along with excellent antiskid performance. Our advanced carbon brake technologies will also provide the jets with many advantages, including enhanced brake life and dynamic stability.
The Goodrich Brake-by-Wire System digitizes the hydraulic control of the brakes thus allowing for an interface to a Central Maintenance System that was unavailable in previous generations of hydraulic brake control. Brake System Health and Monitoring can be applied and will be an asset to both airframers and airliners in optimizing brake maintenance.
