Goodrich Fuel & Utility System - Rome's (The former Bendix Fluid Power Division, Lucas Aerospace)
first patent of the contoured diaphragm coupling was filed in 1949
and after years of research and development the first diaphragm coupling
was delivered for an aircraft application in 1955. In 1967 the first Industrial Coupling was
produced and since then we have supplied numerous welded diaphragm
couplings. Goodrich continues to be on the leading
edge of coupling technology. Our latest diaphragm patent optimizes
the diaphragm shape to yield the lowest stress for a given application
torque and misalignment.
Goodrich also produces test stand couplings capable
of transmitting power for low weight high speed applications.
Analysis and verification testing has been completed on all of our
aerospace couplings as well as the first Fr 7 Mechanical Drive Coupling
which was for a liquid natural gas Application. An 80 inch diameter
coupling was tested for a marine application as well as high temperature
Inconel Couplings for an Engine Test Stand.
