The Model 34EI28 VEN Power Unit provides
the hydraulic force necessary for actuation of the variable exhaust
nozzle (VEN) on augmented models of the F404 engine. The heart of
the unit is a servo-controlled variable displacement, variable pressure,
over-center piston pump directly connected to the exhaust nozzle actuators
in a closed loop system. Other components integrated into the package
include a replenishing pump; a servo pump; a bootstrap accumulator;
filter with impending bypass indicator; over-pressure control valves;
and an Electro-hydraulic servo valve. At a drive speed of 7917 RPM
the unit delivers up to 6 GPM of fluid. |
