Bombardier Dash 8 Series 400
Goodrich Fuel and Utility Systems supplies the Proximity Sensing Electronics Unit (PSEU)
along with 31 proximity sensors and mounting tray for the DeHavilland
Dash 8 Series 400 aircraft.
The Proximity Sensing system is a Flight Critical System, with
the associated software designed, coded, and qualified to DO-178B
Level A.
The Proximity Sensing System provides the following functions:
- Redundant Weight on Wheels
- Landing Gear Control and Door Sequencing
- Landing Gear Primary Position Indication
- Landing Gear Alternate Downlock Indication
- Fuselage Door Position
During the early stages of the Dash 8 program, we
participated in a Joint Definition Phase in which suppliers were
invited to be on site to develop the aircraft system requirements
and interfaces. During this time, Goodrich designed the interfaces
to the proximity system. We developed the algorithms and logic equations
for all the proximity sensing functions, such as landing gear control
and door sequencing and weight on wheels indication.
