Goodrich has successfully designed and delivered proximity systems working in a variety of relationships.  These include working with Aircraft Manufacturers, with Aircraft System Suppliers, and directly with the Airlines.

Aircraft Manufacturers

Goodrich has developed excellent relationships working with Aircraft Manufacturers to develop cost effective, robust proximity sensing systems. Our experience has included several on-site Joint Definition Phases in which we had primary responsibility for developing proximity sensing system requirements and interfaces, for system validation, and for certification.

We have also been successful in developing proximity systems for Aircraft Manufacturers that have a mature set of requirements and interfaces. 

System Suppliers

Goodrich has worked directly with major system suppliers to design proximity systems. Typical relationships include those with landing gear suppliers, thrust reverser suppliers, and various aircraft door suppliers. The latter include passenger entry doors, cargo doors, and hatches.

Airlines

Goodrich has the experience to provide complete turn-key solutions for retrofit applications from requirements development to certification. Our strengths in this area include the following.

• Understand the technical and/or reliability issues facing the airline.
• Ability to design a proximity system that fits into the existing aircraft architecture.
• Proven performance in meeting the demanding schedule of a retrofit program.
• Experience in working with the FAA to certify the design.
